When to contact the programme directly

This guide explains what official sources publish about the I Belong Programme — but it cannot tell you how the programme will treat your individual circumstances, confirm your personal eligibility, process an application, or give you a date for when Stage 1 registrations will reopen. For all of those, the Human Rights Directorate and the I Belong Programme itself are the only authorities who can give you a reliable answer. Situations where contacting them directly is the right next step include:

  • you were partway through a Stage 1 course when the restructuring pause began, and want to know how it affects you (see what the pause means);
  • you hold an existing qualification and want to know whether it changes your Stage 1 or Stage 2 requirement (see eligibility);
  • you need to confirm exactly what your completed or in-progress I Belong certificate documents, for a Long-Term Residence application or another official process (see the certificate discrepancy breakdown); or
  • you have a time-sensitive deadline that depends on the programme’s current status.

Published contact details

Official information names a dedicated programme email address for I Belong enquiries: ibelongcourses@gov.mt. The Human Rights Directorate also publishes a general contact page for its Integration and Anti-Racism Unit, which administers the programme. We recommend starting with the official contact page below — it will always carry the most current published phone numbers, office locations, and any additional contact routes the Directorate has made available since this page was last checked.

A note on the second link above: we located it via search rather than by directly browsing the Directorate’s site (its pages return an access error to automated checks — see the source note below), so we have not independently verified its current content. Treat it as a pointer to the right part of the official site rather than a confirmed, word-for-word quote. TODO: VERIFY AGAINST OFFICIAL SOURCE.

What to have ready when you contact them

To get a useful answer quickly, it generally helps to have to hand: your current residence or visa status, the stage and course (if any) you have already completed or are partway through, any reference numbers from a previous application or enrolment, and a clear, specific statement of the question you need answered. This guide cannot submit anything on your behalf, store any of these details, or track your enquiry — all of that happens directly between you and the programme.
